CHINA – MARCH 16, 2026 Security camera captured a tragic moment when a schoolboy was struck by an inattentive female driver of a car. The incident occurred at a pedestrian crossing when he was attempting to cross a six-lane road in the evening hours. The boy was literally catapulted into the air by the impact and suffered injuries incompatible with life.
As drivers, you should never overestimate your abilities and always adapt your speed and driving style to current conditions. This applies especially in places with a high likelihood of pedestrian movement during rain and darkness. As pedestrians, you should assume that drivers may easily fail to notice you. Reflective elements should be a basic requirement in low visibility conditions, even when moving in urban areas.
