GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR – AUGUST 28, 2025 Two men were murdered in the Santa María alley on 103rd Avenue in the Los Esteros neighborhood. The victims were identified as 20-year-old Diego Adriano Moreira Pinargote and 34-year-old Byron Alejandro Vinces Anchundia.
While they were talking together, two armed men arrived on a motorcycle and began shooting without asking any questions. Both victims died at the scene, and the gunmen immediately left the area.
After the incident, panic spread among the residents of the neighborhood. Such incidents are not very common there. In addition, both victims were quite well known among the locals.
The police investigation is still ongoing. It is not yet known whether the victims had any criminal history or were part of an organized crime group. So far, no one has been arrested.
