A few days later, he called her again with the intention of taking revenge for the theft. At home, he strangled and beat her to death. He then carried her corpse out onto the street in front of the house, where he raped her right under the security camera and crushed her skull against the pavement.

After the crime, Mota fled to the nearby town of Goiânia, where he hid from police in a community of junkies. He was a drug addict himself, so he had a lot of friends there. However, the police managed to arrest him fairly soon.
