DATONG, CHINA – AUGUST 6, 2018 The man had a long-standing dispute with his neighbour Wei, who lived in the same building one floor above him. It all started on May 22, 2017, when water started leaking from Wei’s apartment into his. He called the police, which sparked a feud between them.
On March 29, 2018, Wei confronted the man about the excessive noise coming from his apartment. The altercation ended in a physical assault when Wei painfully kicked the man in the testicles. The incident was dealt with by the police and the man had to be represented by his father because his testicles hurt so much that he was unable to walk. Wei offered compensation, but his father rejected it, saying it was too low and further demanded much higher compensation. However, the man did not provide any medical records, so his pain is disputed.
On August 6, 2018, the man lost his mind and went to take out his hatred for Wai with a meat cleaver. He attacked her and hacked her to death. Bystanders tried to stop him, but his amok was so strong that they couldn’t. When the man calmed down, he went to report himself to the nearest police station.
