OCAÑA, NORTH SANTANDER, COLOMBIA – JANUARY 25, 2026 64-year-old man identified as Sergio de Jesús Toro Hurtado experienced health problems while walking down a street at night in the Primero de Mayo neighborhood. He suddenly lost coordination and fell down some stairs, suffering a severe head injury.

The first person to notice him was a homeless man passing by just moments later. Instead of offering help, he took advantage of the situation for personal gain, stealing the dying man’s valuables and fleeing the scene. This act of inhumanity was captured on CCTV.
By the time Sergio was discovered by other passersby, he had unfortunately already passed away. Authorities are currently conducting an intensive police investigation to identify the homeless man, determine the cause of death, and uncover underlying health complications that may have contributed.
