AYNA, ALBACETE, SPAIN – SEPTEMBER 5, 2026 64-year-old woman died during a traditional bull run in the town of Ayna. She was outside the protective barriers in an area known as Las Cuevas when one of the bulls charged toward her and caught her on its horns.
Emergency responders provided her with urgent surgical treatment at the scene, but her injuries were so severe that she died while being transported to the helipad. According to the town’s mayor, she was from Catalonia and was staying in the area with family.
A man in his 60s was also injured during the same bull run after another bull caught him by the arm with its horn. Following the tragedy, all remaining events scheduled for that day as part of the festivities were canceled.
