Employee slashes armed robber with machete

ANAJÁS, PARÁ, BRAZIL – APRIL 30, 2026 Attempted armed robbery of a wholesale store ended in a violent confrontation between two robbers and employees. Two masked suspects stormed into the business and began threatening the employees. One of them headed toward the cash register, while the other dragged an employee to the back of the store.

When one of the suspects briefly put his weapon down on the counter, one of the employees took the opportunity to strike him in the arm with a machete. The blow caused a very serious injury – his arm was almost amputated. The injured suspect then fled the store and later sought medical treatment.

Meanwhile, employees surrounded his accomplice, knocked him to the ground, and restrained him until police arrived. According to police, the injured suspect was a minor. The adult suspect was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, while the minor’s case was handled through the appropriate juvenile proceedings.
