BANIYAS, SYRIA – MARCH 9 , 2025 Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), an Islamist group operating in Syria, stormed a family home and executed all the occupants without mercy. A man and his wife were found on the floor in pools of blood. The corpses of other family members were then found on the roof of the house. They had probably fled there when they heard the shots. Their child was probably kidnapped, as its corpse was not at the scene.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated attack on civilians, but current estimates put the death toll as high as 1,000. The situation has escalated greatly with the fighting with supporters of the previous Assad regime. The attacks have mainly targeted the Alwite minority.
We all need to talk about what is currently happening in Syria and share the uncensored truth. Even if you are sitting hundreds or perhaps thousands of miles away in your warm and safe homes, people are dying in Syria. Only global interest and public awareness can stop this.
