Executed with 33 shots by members of violent criminal organization

LIMA, PERU – SEPTEMBER, 2024 In the San Martin de Porres area, a brutal execution of a Venezuelan man named Lisandro Isturiz took place, and he became the victim of an attack linked to organized crime. According to available information, he was first kidnapped by a group of armed men, who then forced him to get out of the vehicle.

The attackers accused Lisandro of being “anti-Tren,” meaning that he stood against the notorious Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua. When he realized what awaited him, he began desperately begging for his life and tried to escape. However, his attempt to save himself did not last long.

The gunmen opened fire on him without mercy and, according to available reports, fired a total of 33 shots. The intensity of the gunfire suggests that this was a targeted and demonstrative execution, likely intended as an intimidating message to others as well.

The investigation revealed that one of the suspects, Freddie Jacol Perez Jimenez, also known by the nickname Jacob, was arrested in Chile. Other perpetrators, also originally from Venezuela, remain at large and are still being sought by police.

The case once again drew attention to the growing influence of the Tren de Aragua gang beyond the borders of Venezuela. The organization is considered one of the most dangerous criminal groups in the region and is linked to contract killings, extortion, and human trafficking across South America.
