CIUDAD JUÁREZ, MEXICO Third-year law student, identified as Consuela, was just returning home from a night out. On the way, she was on the phone with her friends and told them that she was very tired, slightly drunk and planned to go to bed.
When one of her roommates arrived home after her, she went to check on her but did not find her. Instead, she heard a pair of armed men on a motorcycle screaming loudly and driving away. By that time, Consuela was already dead.
Consuela was found in an alley next to her house in a pool of blood. She had been shot twice in the head.
The crime was never solved, but it is believed that the killers mistook her for someone else. Consuela was a very quiet girl who lived an orderly student life. She spent most of her time at home studying for exams.
