BALI, INDONESIA – SEPTEMBER 10, 2025 Strong tropical storm on the night of September 9–10, 2025, caused rivers to overflow, landslides, and flooding of land and homes. The city of Denpasar in the Badung district was the most affected. Rescue teams found at least 9 dead, and dozens were reported missing. In the following days, as more bodies were found, the death toll rose to 18. Many residents lost their homes and had to be evacuated.
According to some sources, over 6,000 families were affected, more than 500 public facilities were damaged, over 190 homes were destroyed, and three bridges were affected. Some areas received up to 15 inches (385 mm) of rainfall within 24 hours. Experts called it the worst flooding in Bali in more than 10 years. Some blame climate change for the disaster.
