TRUJILLO, LA LIBERTAD, PERU – AUGUST 30, 2026 In the early morning hours, an armed attack took place in which four people were shot dead. A group of men dressed in uniforms resembling police officers stopped a Ford Bronco on Húsares de Junín Avenue, in which 31-year-old businessman Jenss Marty Lara Tantaquill was traveling with four other people.
The attackers subsequently shot four of the passengers and kidnapped Jenss Marty Lara Tantaquill. Among the victims were two young women – Farhad Andrea Monzón Lingán (20), a medical student, and Nadia Edith Urtecho Rodríguez (28), a graduate in administration. The other victims were Luis Alberto Rojas Ramos de Rosas (35) and Christopher Eduardo García Álvarez (32), who, according to available information, worked as security guards.

According to investigators, the perpetrators used uniforms and equipment similar to those worn by the Peruvian police during the attack. The investigation suggests that the operation was planned in advance and that the main objective was to kidnap the businessman.
Jenss Marty Lara Tantaquill was found alive after more than 30 hours and was freed on August 31. Police subsequently arrested five men suspected of involvement in the kidnapping and the quadruple murder. Investigators are examining possible links to organized crime, particularly the Los Pulpos group.
