Their neighbours on Rua da Pátria Street heard several gunshots. When they came to see what was going on, the attacker or attackers had already left, leaving no trace.

A forensic autopsy revealed a total of four gunshot wounds on the woman’s body, two in the chest and two in the back. The man had been shot three times – in the head, the arm and the chest.
