TRAPPES, YVELINES, FRANCE – OCTOBER 23, 2026 Man on an electric scooter arrives at a gas station in Trappes, a suburb of Paris, where he tries to find shelter. As he arrives, a gunshot rings out, and the man collapses to the ground, where he remains lying in a pool of blood. Shortly afterward, an armed attacker, identified as Kévin T. (39), appears at the entrance, points his weapon at the injured man, and then walks away. According to some reports, his weapon jammed.
The incident occurred during a series of shootings in Trappes and nearby La Verrière, which French authorities investigated as suspected racially motivated terrorism. According to available reports, the attacker targeted people who were not white. Pengo Bossio Wangi (26) was killed in the attacks, and five other people were injured, including a 12-year-old girl. Kévin T. was arrested, and the investigation also examined possible extremist motives behind his actions.
