SALVADOR, BAHIA, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 1, 2026 In the city of Salvador in the state of Bahia, a man died a violent death. The incident occurred in the Tancredo Neves neighborhood, specifically on Rua Bahia.

According to available information, the man was shot repeatedly, with most of the gunshots aimed at the head. The injuries were so severe that the victim died before emergency services arrived. The shooting was carried out by an as-yet unidentified perpetrator.
The crime scene is located in an area long controlled by the criminal group Comando Vermelho (CV), known mainly for its involvement in drug-related crime. Officers from the 23rd Independent Company of the Military Police were called to the scene, where they secured and cordoned off the area. The Police Technical Department was then contacted to conduct a forensic examination and arrange the removal of the body.
The investigation was taken over by the Homicide and Personal Protection Department, which will focus on identifying the perpetrator as well as determining the circumstances and motive behind the act.
