VAN, İPEKYOLU DISTRICT, TURKEY – NOVEMBER 23, 2025 Serious violent incident occurred at one of the local hotels. A dispute between a lawyer, identified in the media by the initials B.K., and the hotel owner Nihat Ozener quickly escalated during an argument. The owner’s son, Karim Ozener, was also present at the scene.
According to available information, the conflict turned into an armed attack in which the lawyer pulled out a firearm and fatally shot both men. Both father and son died at the scene before paramedics arrived. The incident took place directly inside the hotel premises and caused a strong reaction among local residents.
Police detained the attacker shortly after the act and launched a criminal investigation. The motive for the attack has not yet been officially confirmed, and the case remains under investigation by Turkish authorities.
