SYRIA Members of the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group execute in cold blood a Syrian soldier who came without a weapon to surrender. Before, they urged Syrian soldiers to surrender and promised them safety. Still, many videos like this one have surfaced on the internet.
Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham is a military islamist organisation that originated in Syria as an offshoot of the infamous Al-Qaeda. Its main objective was to fight on the side of the opposition against the regime of Bashar al-Assad. Although they have officially distanced themselves from al-Qaeda in order to win public and Western support, they share an identical ideology with them.
