Atsede ran in pain from the last of her strength to the street, where neighbours gave her first aid while her five-year-old son slept at home.
The acid attack left her with lasting effects. She is blind in her left eye and can hardly see out of her right eye. Practically her entire face is ruined and scarred. For several months she lay in the hospital in tremendous pain.
