CHENNAI, INDIA – MARCH 4, 2024 38-year-old bank accountant committed a terrible crime. He murdered his wife, Mohanapriya, and their two children – 6-year-old Pranithi Raj and 2-year-old Pranish Raj.
His motive was probably so-called widespread suicide. He left a letter at the scene explaining that he was in an extremely difficult financial situation. He said he lost approximately $65,000 when he was scammed on the internet.
However, his body was not recovered at the scene. Either he went to commit suicide somewhere else or he didn’t have the courage to do so and ran away. Police are currently on an intensive search for him.
The bodies of the victims were found by their neighbours. They noticed that the family hadn’t been out for a long time, which they found suspicious.
The incident highlights the seriousness of internet scams, which are rampant in India and can have a drastic impact on individuals and entire families.
