NEW DELHI, DELHI, INDIA – MARCH 16, 2026 28-year-old Pawan Kumar accidentally shot himself in the chest while recording a video for social media. The incident occurred in the Dallupura area of eastern Delhi, where Kumar was handling his cousin Himanshu’s licensed pistol.
The video shows Pawan Kumar inserting a magazine into the pistol and preparing the weapon while Himanshu records everything on his mobile phone. According to police, Himanshu apparently had no idea what Kumar was about to do and even warned him about handling the weapon safely during the recording. Kumar then placed the pistol against the left side of his chest and fired.
Kumar was taken to Dharamshila Hospital unconscious, where doctors pronounced him dead. Police subsequently seized the pistol used, ten live rounds, and the mobile phone containing the video recording. The case was handed over for further investigation, with police examining the circumstances of the incident and the responsibility of the weapon’s owner.
