TIRUCHENGODE, TAMIL NADU, INDIA – SEPTEMBER 18, 2015 Vishnupriya, who worked as a police officer, was found dead in her official flat. The official inquiry said she was working on a complex murder case and faced immense work pressure from her superiors. It drove her into a depression that led her to take her own life and hang herself.
But her father never accepted the findings of the official investigation. He found many strange circumstances in the case and thought it was murder. He therefore appealed all the way to the Supreme Court asking for a review of her death. The court granted his request and assigned the case to the CDI, which after two years of investigation reconfirmed that she had committed suicide.
