CHINA Forensic experts from the homicide department were called to a case involving the discovery of a dead woman. She was found floating in a river. After she was pulled out onto the bank, they carried out an initial examination of the body before sending it to a medical institute for an autopsy. This process was documented in photographs.
The task of forensic experts at the scene is to capture as many details as possible. It is not only about the body, but also the surroundings and various traces. All of this can help in possible future investigations if the autopsy proves that it was a murder.
In this case, a large amount of water was found in the woman’s lungs. In combination with other factors, the finding of foam from the lungs in the nasal and oral cavities, the experts were able to safely determine the cause of death as drowning.
