MEDEIROS NETO, BAHIA, BRAZIL – DECEMBER 22, 2013 14-year-old Milena Meireles Lopes was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old Paulo Augusto Meira Barros. They were together at a family party at Vila Ronaldo. Barbecues were grilled and alcohol was consumed in large quantities. Milena took a selfie with a guy, which made the drunk Paulo very jealous. He grabbed a long knife, stabbed her twice in the back and disappeared before the police arrived. Milena died on the spot.
Some sources say that Milena and Paulo were divorced. The legal age of marriage in Brazil is 16, which would have to mean that they were in an illegal marriage.
