CHALCO, STATE OF MEXICO, MEXICO – MARCH 16, 2018 Berenice Mata Gaytán, 40, and José Antonio Aguado Plata, 37, became involved in an armed confrontation in the Rancho El Amigo residential area. A dispute between neighbors escalated into a shooting, during which Berenice Mata Gaytán was shot in the head and died at the scene. José Antonio Aguado Plata was also injured in the shooting and taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. According to available reports, both victims were federal police officers.
