SINGRAULI, MADHYA PRADESH, INDIA – SEPTEMBER 14, 2026 Driver Anil Sahu arrived at a tire shop with his vehicle because of a damaged tire. According to witnesses, the tire and rim were very hot, and tire shop workers reportedly warned that they should wait until they cooled down. Nevertheless, Anil began removing the tire using a tire iron. Shortly afterward, a sound of escaping air came from the tire, followed by a powerful explosion.

The explosion killed Anil instantly, and his body was severely dismembered by the blast. Two other people in the immediate vicinity, 17-year-old Vijay Sahu and 18-year-old Pawan Kol, suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital.
