Corpse of a 22-year-old woman was found brutally mutilated in her apartment. She was lying on the floor covered in blood. There were deep cuts all over her body, reaching down into the layers of her subcutaneous fat. Her head bore the marks of blunt force trauma. Her throat was slit. Her abdominal cavity had also been opened and a soda bottle had been pushed inside. On a coffee table not far from her body was a glass with blood and lip prints, indicating that someone had drunk her blood. A set of kitchen knives that had been used to mutilate her corpse were found in the kitchen.
The initial thoughts of all investigators were that she was the victim of a sadistic killer and that the murder had a sexual motive. But it later turned out that they were wrong. A forensic psychologist said the murder was committed impulsively and in a fit of rage. His assertion was corroborated by a subsequent autopsy of the victim, which showed that all the mutilation on her body was of a post-mortem nature. This does not befit a sadistic killer who takes sexual pleasure in the victim’s suffering.
Further investigation revealed that the murder was committed by the victim’s boyfriend. They allegedly had an argument and she slapped him. This enraged him so much that he grabbed a baseball bat and beat her in the head until she died. Once she was dead, he knew he had nothing left to lose and continued to engage in bizarre activities such as mutilating her body and drinking her blood. He added that he drank her blood to keep it flowing in his veins forever.
