TLALNEPANTLA, MEXICO – DECEMBER 31, 2016 Group of thieves targeted a small liquor store on Cerro Palomas 186 Street on New Year’s Eve. They entered the shop, locked the door behind them, and never had any intention of paying for anything. Instead, they forced the 28-year-old shop assistant, Guadalupe López Álvarez, into the back room, where they cold-bloodedly murdered her – even though she offered no resistance. Using a small knife, they slit her throat and left her to drown in her own blood.

Her lifeless body was discovered several hours later by members of her family, who had gone out looking for her when she failed to return home from work.
The thieves managed to steal only a few boxes of wine from the store. Sadly, for some criminals in Latin America, human life holds little value.
