ANAJÁS, PARÁ, BRAZIL – OCTOBER 7, 2026 Man identified as Joerisson Chermont Andrade was murdered in a wooded area near the village of Vila Monte Sinai. The main suspect is his relative, nicknamed Joca, who is reportedly on the run, according to Brazilian media.

According to preliminary information, Joca allegedly invited Joerisson into the forest to collect açaí berries together. The two men reportedly got into an argument before the attack. The victim was then allegedly killed by a machete blow to the neck.
The suspect reportedly returned home alone afterward. When a female relative asked him where Joerisson was, he replied that he would not be coming back because he was dead. Local residents subsequently went into the forest and indeed found the body.
Police are investigating the case and searching for the suspect. Detectives are questioning witnesses and have arranged for the necessary forensic procedures to be carried out.
