CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, USA – JULY 30, 2026 Thirty-three-year-old Di-Quan Schafar Hunt was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina, after videos appeared on social media that police say show him attacking or harassing several people.

One of the incidents took place on a sidewalk near East Boulevard in the South End neighborhood. In the footage, Hunt allegedly approaches a woman whom he reportedly warned before the attack, saying, “Don’t greet me.” He then allegedly struck her and knocked her to the ground. He subsequently stood over her, yelled, and asked her if she was still talking before leaving the scene.

The woman suffered serious injuries in the attack and had to be transported to a hospital. According to police, however, her injuries were not life-threatening. The motive for the attack has not yet been determined, and investigators described it as apparently random.

Police got onto Hunt’s trail after they were alerted on August 6 to a social media account containing several videos. Some of them were already being investigated by police. The footage subsequently helped identify the suspect, and Hunt was arrested in the Uptown Charlotte area.

Investigators also came across another video that allegedly shows a confrontation with another woman. According to available reports, Hunt allegedly followed her along the sidewalk around a parked vehicle. Police continue to investigate whether there are additional victims or incidents connected to him.

According to available records, Hunt has an extensive criminal history. Between October 2023 and December 2025, he was arrested at least nine times. In the past, he faced, among other charges, assault with a deadly weapon, threats, assaulting a woman, and violating protective orders related to domestic violence.
