ISTANBUL, TURKEY, 1994 In the Kadıköy district, an English teacher of Australian nationality, Anderson Duncan Alexander, was murdered. He was stabbed to death by his Turkish friend Serkan Uçman. He was caught and arrested by police directly at the crime scene. He stated that after the murder he wanted to hide in Georgia, but he did not get a visa, so he rather stayed at the crime scene and surrendered to the police. This suggests that the murder was planned. It was also revealed that Serkan was a homosexual who repeatedly proposed a homosexual relationship to Anderson. However, Anderson repeatedly rejected him. That was apparently the main motive.
