FRANCA, BRAZIL – MARCH 2, 2020 Maringaense Jéssica Carloni, 28, gathered with her friends for a birthday party by the pool. But there was an uninvited guest at the party – her ex-husband Antônio Sérgio Rodrigues, 32, nicknamed “Buidu”. He mindlessly attacked her with a knife and stabbed her with more than 20 wounds, killing her. At this, he screamed that anyone who tried to stop him would kill him too.

Allegedly, this is not the first time he has tried to kill her. On October 26, 2019, he rammed his car into her motorcycle. Jéssica was injured but did not die. Since then, she was very afraid of him and hardly went out. However, her friends convinced her that she would be safe at the party because there would be a lot of people there.
After the murder, Rodrigues remained sitting at the scene near her body and volunteered to be arrested by police. Partygoers said they took away a lifetime of trauma.
