DNIPRO, UKRAINE – JANUARY 4, 2019 A homeless man searching through the bins found a suitcase in one of them. When he opened it, he saw the half-naked corpse of a young girl inside. He immediately called the police.

Crimestoppers posted photos of her on the Internet, asking for help in identifying the victim. Eventually they succeeded and the girl was identified as 19-year-old Daria Bilous, a student at an apprenticeship in Dnipro.

The results of the forensic examination showed that Daria had been strangled. She also received a severe blow to the neck with a blunt instrument.

Daria was raised by a foster family because her biological parents were unable to care for her. It is alleged that a few days before the murder, she was supposed to go to Kiev for a New Year’s Eve party. It’s not clear how she got back. Apparently, she was also fresh from a breakup. No further information is known.
