WETHERBY, UNITED KINGDOM – JANUARY, 2017 Charlotte Szakacs, 21, and her husband Attila, 28, had a seriously ill daughter. Due to a chromosomal translocation, she was born with an underdeveloped brain and a narrow airway. Doctors tried to save her life with an operation, during which she unfortunately died.
The devastated parents refused to accept this and spent time with their newborn daughter’s corpse as if she were alive. They cuddled her, took her for walks in the park and let her “sleep” in the bed they had prepared for her. They spent a total of 16 days with her before she was buried.
