PEORIA, ILLINOIS, USA – MARCH 2, 2026 25-year-old Karma Davis suffered devastating facial injuries after having an epileptic seizure at home, during which her family’s pit bull Fayzo attacked her while she was unconscious. The attack caused extensive injuries to her lips, face, nose, and ears.

Karma regained consciousness after the seizure and contacted her 23-year-old fiancé via video call, after which he called for help. She underwent several emergency and reconstructive surgeries at the hospital and spent approximately two and a half days in a medically induced coma. Due to the extent of her injuries, she now requires further treatment and, according to available reports, also relies on a feeding tube.

Fayzo, whom the family rescued four years ago from an allegedly abusive environment, was taken into animal control custody after the attack and was subsequently euthanized. Karma said the dog had never previously shown signs of aggression. The family is now raising funds through a GoFundMe campaign to cover her further treatment and recovery.
