NEW JERSEY, USA Richard Cottingham, also known as the Torso killer or the Times Square killer, was an American serial killer active in the years 1967-1980 in the states of New York and New Jersey. His distinguishing mark was that he usually left only the torso of his victims. He murdered at least 12 young girls. Unofficially more. He raped the victims and the murders had sexual undertones. Cottingham is still alive and currently incarcerated at Trenton State Prison in New Jersey.
