NORTH OGDEN, UTAH – APRIL 27, 2023 On Thursday, May 4, 2023, US authorities released footage of the incident that happened on April 27, 2023. 66-year-old Jeffrey Roberts drove from Long Beach, California to his brother’s house in North Ogden, Utah. He walked up to the front door and rang the bell. Residents of the home, Scott Roberts and his wife, Jodi Roberts, were eating their dinner when the doorbell rang. As Scott opens the door, the following conversation can be heard:
Jeffrey : Hey, what’s up?
Scott : What are you doing?
Jeffrey : I came to [inaudible] I came by to see mom.
Scott : She’s not here.
Jeffrey: Where’s she at?
Scott: Missouri.
Jeffrey: What’s she doing there?
Scott: Well, she’s living with Lorinda’s mom, who’s taking care of her.
Jeffrey: Really?
Scott: Yep.
Jeffrey: Well, how long’s she been there?
Scott: Well, about — about a year.
Jeffrey: Really?
Jeffrey Roberts then pulls out a gun and shoots his brother dead. The victim is nowhere to be seen, but at least eight shots are heard. Neighbors immediately called 911 at this point. When the police arrived, Jeffrey started a shootout. He was hit and killed by the police.
