RAJKOT, GUJARAT, INDIA – FEBRUARY 3, 2026 Man approximately 40 to 45 years old was brutally murdered in broad daylight after being repeatedly stabbed by an assailant. The victim was left lying in a pool of blood while the perpetrator fled the scene on a motorcycle.
According to police, the victim was Nilesh Haribhai Tokiya, who worked as a mason and left behind a wife and two children. Witnesses reported that the attack was swift and exceptionally violent. Security cameras captured the moment of the assault itself, which is now helping investigators track the suspect.
Police have identified the main perpetrator as a man named Mahesh Jethwa, who allegedly stabbed the victim a total of seven times. The motive has not been officially confirmed. Investigators are considering the possibility that the attack stemmed from a personal dispute or a romantic relationship.
Police units arrived at the scene immediately, the area was cordoned off, and an examination was conducted. The body was subsequently taken for an autopsy. Meanwhile, police are questioning witnesses and analyzing surveillance footage from the surrounding area.
