CARANAVI, BOLIVIA – OCTOBER 15, 2024 At Simón Bolívar High School, a 23-year-old student, Kamila P., was brutally murdered in a classroom of future teachers. The perpetrator is her classmate Edwin Marcos Calle Huanca, a year older than her. They had an argument at the beginning of class, whereupon he pulled out a knife and began to stab her furiously to death. The whole incident took place in front of their terrified classmates.

Their classmates testified that the intensity of the attack was brutal. They said he stabbed her in the face with the knife with the intention of killing her. Some also testified that the two had an intimate relationship, which may have been the subject of their argument.
Edwin was arrested by police and taken into custody where he is now awaiting trial. The prosecutor said that there is no doubt about his guilt and brutality due to the video recording of his classmates and will do everything possible to ensure that he is sentenced to 30 years in prison.
