KABAL, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, PAKISTAN – AUGUST 2, 2026 Several people were killed and dozens more were injured in a suicide bombing near the Kabal police station in the Swat Valley. The attack occurred after the attacker attempted to enter the station compound, but police prevented him from doing so.
According to available information, the man then detonated explosives near the entrance gate. The blast also struck people in the surrounding area, where a local gathering against violence and the activities of armed groups was taking place at the time. Among the victims were civilians and members of security forces.
The number of casualties varied in the initial reports, with later information stating at least 14 people killed and more than 20 injured. According to some sources, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) movement claimed responsibility for the attack. Authorities have launched an investigation and are searching for further details about the attack.
