ALHANDRA, PARAÍBA, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 25, 2026 18-year-old Paulo Miguel and his 14-year-old girlfriend, Evellyn Júlia Vieira Melo, were shot and killed in a remote area of Alhandra. Their bodies were found near the Ponte do Aterro bridge next to a motorcycle that still had its engine running.

Police are investigating whether the couple was connected to motorcycle thefts in the region. According to investigators, the motorcycle found at the scene had allegedly been used in the theft of another motorcycle the previous evening. Police are also investigating the possibility that the couple was stopped by someone and then shot. The perpetrators and the exact motive have not yet been identified.
