SA’ANG DISTRICT, KANDAL PROVINCE, CAMBODIA – JUNE 25, 2025 17-year-old Kon Linda tragically died in a motorcycle accident on Road No. 1210 in the village of Prek Khmae. According to all available information, she was riding on the motorcycle with two friends: 16-year-old boy You Mek Ra, who was driving, and 19-year-old girl Mit Srey Phe.
The boy likely wanted to impress the girls and therefore drove the motorcycle very fast and recklessly. Due to the high speed, he lost control and crashed into the railing of the Prek Ta Srey bridge. All three, along with the motorcycle, flew into the canal. While You Mek Ra and Mit Srey Phea suffered serious injuries, Kon Linda wasn’t so lucky and died on the spot.
Authorities concluded the investigation as an accident caused by high speed, carelessness, and the driver’s lack of control over the vehicle. The girl’s body was recovered and handed over to her family for the funeral ceremony.
