TRIPURA, INDIA – OCTOBER 15, 2025 Local residents in the border area of Khowai caught three cattle thieves who had illegally crossed the border from Bangladesh. The thieves then tried to smuggle the stolen cattle back into Bangladesh. When the locals attempted to stop them, the thieves attacked with machetes. A fight broke out during which all three were killed. They were identified as 32-year-old Juel Mia, 45-year-old Pandit Mia, and 20-year-old Sajal Mia. Two villagers, Dhirendra Telenga and Mithun Telenga, were injured in the clash and are currently recovering in a local hospital.
