GUATEMALA A driver driving along a country road to work discovered the dead body of a young woman lying by the side of the road. She was tied up and had a plastic bag over her head, making it impossible for her to breathe. Police found that she had been executed by strangulation in the vehicle and then thrown from the car. At the time of her discovery, she had been dead for only 30 minutes.
The first girl found
Not long after this gruesome discovery, a random passerby made another discovery. He discovered the bodies of a young woman and a young man, who were also tied up with a plastic bag over their heads. The cause of death was also identical – strangulation.
The investigation revealed that all three were good friends. They earned their living doing marginal work for the gang. They’d go around to businesses collecting kickbacks from businessmen. Allegedly, they were guilty of stealing the money they collected instead of handing it over.
