UKRAINE – SEPTEMBER 22, 2026 Russian soldier suffered a severe injury in a mine explosion, resulting in the traumatic amputation of his right hand. Medics provided him with initial treatment directly in the field, under improvised conditions outdoors beneath a roof.
According to the published description, they first administered pain relief and established intravenous access, followed by a brachial plexus block and measures to restore blood volume and control the bleeding. The treatment also included antibiotics, surgical cleaning of the wound, suturing of damaged major blood vessels, filling the cavity of the fractured bones with bone wax, and applying sterile dressings.
