IBADAN, OYO, NIGERIA – MARCH 24, 2026 Tragic traffic accident occurred in which at least six people died. A trailer transporting approximately 45,000 liters of gasoline lost control while driving on a busy route in the Oje-Beere area.
According to available information, the vehicle’s brakes failed while going downhill, which led to the driver being unable to stop the trailer or steer it safely. Subsequently, the trailer entered an area with heavy traffic and ran over several tricycles and a motorcyclist.
The victims died directly at the scene because they were crushed by the heavy vehicle. Other people suffered injuries and were taken to hospitals. The police confirmed the accident and the case was handed over for further investigation.
