MANAUS, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 6, 2020 The dead body of 14-year-old Thayssa Karolyne da Silva Azevedo and her same-age friend Sigrid Libório Santana were found in the river. Both were reported missing for several days. They were last seen with a group of drug dealers standing outside their house.

The girls were said to be in frequent contact with people who belonged to Brazil’s infamous CV gang. A video was recorded of the girls drinking alcohol with them at the party (Video 4).

Before the girls were thrown into the river, they were executed with several shots. A video of gang members leading them to execution (video 1) was leaked online.
