YUSUFIA, IRAQ – 2006 On March 12, 2006, 4 American soldiers broke into a family home in the village of al-Mahmudiyah, which was located near a US military base. There were 4 residents inside the house: 34-year-old mother Fakhriya Taha Muhasen, 45-year-old father Qassim Hamza Raheem and their two daughters. 14-year-old Abeer Qassim Hamza al-Janabi and 6-year-old Hadeel.
These American soldiers forced Abeer to go to one of the rooms in the house. The soldiers then forced the rest of the family to go into another room. The soldiers then started gang-raping Abeer. When they finished raping, one of the soldiers – Steve Green executed the whole family including Abeer. They then set fire to their house and accused the insurgents of murder.

But the Iraqis did not believe the information about the insurgents, and when it came to light that the American army was responsible for the act, a counter-offensive began in the form of an increased frequency of attacks on the American army in Iraq. One of the most successful attacks was the kidnapping of two American soldiers. These soldiers were tortured, disfigured and set on fire.
