MARIUPOL, UKRAINE – JANUARY 5, 2019 The two men were spending their free time drinking alcohol in a flat on Stroiteley Avenue. One of them was an employee of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) and wanted to show off a grenade he had stolen at work. He began to dismantle the grenade in the kitchen. But the grenade suddenly exploded.
One man died at the scene. The second man’s limb was amputated by the blast and he was thrown through a window where he was left hanging. He called for help to people on the street for a while, but died a moment later.
There were four other people in the apartment at the time of the explosion. But they were in the next room and were left only stunned with no physical injuries.
