CULIACÁN, SINALOA, MEXICO – JANUARY 16, 2026 In the Juntas del Humaya area, two young women were found dead after suffering gunshot wounds. Police were called to the scene by local residents after they heard gunshots in the area. The victims were later identified as 18-year-old Ivonne Daniela N. and 14-year-old Michelle N.
The case remained under investigation for several months. In July, police arrested a man identified as Jesús Javier “N”, whom investigators linked to the murders of both girls. A court subsequently ordered him to be held in custody and initiated proceedings against him for aggravated femicide and attempted intentional murder in connection with another shooting. However, his guilt has not yet been legally established.
