SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – MARCH 15, 2026 Off-duty metropolitan guard member became the target of two armed robbers in the Capão Redondo neighborhood. He was traveling on his motorcycle when the robbers caught up to him on their motorcycle and forced him to stop at gunpoint. The man made a quick and unexpected move, using it to reach for his weapon and immediately opened fire on the pair of robbers.
One of them, only 15 years old, died at the scene. The second, 20 years old, tried to flee the scene on his motorcycle but was also hit. He received treatment and was transported by police escort to M’Boi Mirim Hospital. He currently remains in custody and will face justice in the coming days.
The officer sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg during the incident. He is currently stabilized. Police further revealed that the motorcycle used during the robbery was also stolen.
